A multi-agency security team in Baringo has successfully apprehended Lonyapat Perinyang, a notorious bandit who had been on the run for four years. County Police Commander Julius Kiragu revealed that the 20-year-old suspect, believed to have committed a series of crimes in Baringo, Samburu, and Turkana, will be arraigned in Kabarnet Court.
The arrest of the suspect was a result of intensified intelligence surveillance and information provided by members of the public. Kiragu urged the public to continue cooperating with security agencies to apprehend more wanted bandits operating in the area.

During the operation, police recovered 2 AK-47 rifles and 15 rounds of ammunition. The arrested suspect is believed to be the leader of criminal gang groups in Paka, Silale, and Akoret, responsible for carrying out raids and counter-raids in the North Rift region.
